This Privacy Policy explains how X•News collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our applications and related services across Android, iOS, iPhone, iPad, handheld devices, tablets, Android TV, Apple TV, and our companion website.

1. Information We Collect

X•News does not require users to create an account or provide personal information such as a name, email address, phone number, or password. However, we may collect limited technical information needed to provide app functionality, send push notifications, and understand how the app is used.

The information we may collect includes:

• Device ID: A device or installation identifier used to distinguish app installations, support app functionality, prevent duplicate records, and measure app usage.
• Push notification token: A token provided by the device notification service, such as Firebase Cloud Messaging or Apple Push Notification Service, which allows us to send notifications to your device.
• Analytics information: Limited information about how users interact with the app, such as app launches, screens viewed, content interactions, device type, operating system version, app version, approximate session duration, and technical error or crash information.

Device IDs and push notification tokens are technical identifiers. We do not use them to directly identify you by name.

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information collected for the following purposes:

• To send news alerts and other push notifications.
• To deliver and maintain app features.
• To understand how users interact with the app.
• To improve app performance, usability, and reliability.
• To identify and resolve crashes, bugs, and technical issues.
• To prevent misuse, duplicate records, or fraudulent activity.

We do not sell or rent your device ID, push notification token, or analytics information.

3. Push Notifications

When you allow notifications, X•News collects and stores your device’s push notification token so that we can send notifications to your device. Notifications may include breaking news, important alerts, content updates, and service-related messages.

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications prevents new notifications from being displayed but may not immediately remove an existing token from our server.

4. Analytics

We collect limited analytics information to understand app usage and improve our services. Analytics may include information about app activity, viewed screens, interactions with features or content, app version, device model, operating system, language, session information, and crash or diagnostic data.

Analytics information is used in aggregated or technical form whenever possible. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles or provide personalized advertisements.

5. Local Storage

Preferences you select, such as news categories, channels, or video playback settings, may be stored locally on your device. These settings help personalize your app experience.

6. Use of YouTube API and Player

X•News utilizes the YouTube Data API indirectly through our secure server infrastructure. Our server periodically fetches and stores publicly available video links and metadata from official YouTube news channels, in accordance with YouTube’s API terms.

The app does not directly access a user’s YouTube account or private YouTube data. When a user plays a video, the app uses the official YouTube Player to stream content. During playback, YouTube or Google may collect information under their own privacy practices, including IP address, device information, browser or app information, and playback activity.

Use of YouTube content is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

7. Use of Our Server

To improve performance and reduce API usage, X•News periodically fetches and stores publicly available video links and metadata from selected YouTube news channels on our secure server. The app retrieves this content from our server instead of querying YouTube directly.

Our server may also store device IDs, push notification tokens, and limited analytics information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

8. Sharing of Information

We may share limited technical information with service providers that help us operate the app, including:

• Push notification service providers.
• Hosting and server infrastructure providers.
• Analytics, crash-reporting, and diagnostic service providers.
• Google or YouTube when users play YouTube content.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and only as necessary to provide their services. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, or services.

9. Data Retention and Security

We retain device IDs, push notification tokens, and analytics information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain security, analyze performance, or comply with legal obligations.

Push notification tokens may be updated, replaced, or removed when they become invalid or when the app is uninstalled. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect stored information. However, no electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure.

10. Children's Privacy

X•News is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect names, contact details, account information, or other directly identifying personal information from children.

The limited technical information described in this policy may be processed automatically when the app is used. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

11. Your Choices

You may:

• Disable push notifications through your device settings.
• Clear locally stored app data through your device’s application settings.
• Uninstall the app to stop future collection of information from that installation.
• Contact us to ask questions about your information or request deletion of associated device information where technically possible.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technologies, or privacy practices change. Updates will be posted within the app or on our official website, together with a revised effective date.
